She enjoyed all types of crafts including silk flowers, purses, quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and antiques. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for many years including Sunday School, Women's Missionary Union, Pantry Ministry and special projects.
Upon moving to Madison, MS she became an active member of First Baptist Church Madison until her health started failing.

Juanita married Tommy Smith on February 14th on Valentine's Day which represented their love for 62 years until Tommy passed away.
They made Yazoo County, Mississippi, their permanent home. She loved putting on her sunhat and working in her rose and vegetable gardens.
She was a true picture and definition of a devoted wife, mother, mother-in- law and a Grand Mimi!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommy; sisters, Sue Thornton and Effie Hubbard; Brother, Bob Mc Clendon.

She is survived by her daughter, Deseree Guthrie and son-in-law Buck Guthrie; grand kids, Cheryl Gordon (Todd) of Madison, Cindy Walker (Petey) of Cartersville, GA, Steve Guthrie (Lori) of Baton Rouge, LA.
She is also survived by great grandkids, Chad Walker (Rachel) of Cartersville, GA, Sonny Walker (Morgan) of Rome, GA, Hayes and Hannah Gordon of Madison, MS, Emily Dees Bandin (Alex) of Casa Grande, Arizona, Macy Barrios (Josh) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michalyn Habisch of Baton Rouge, LA, Amber Kinstley (Michael) of Vicksburg, MS, and eleven great great grands.
Gloria Nelson Curran ,96, of Yazoo City passed away Saturday May 26, 2018 at The Blake in Ridgeland, Ms. Even though he never had children of his own, he was a wonderful step-father, grandfather and uncle to all the children in his family.
She is survived by her children Michael Curran ( Katherine ) of Madison , Christopher Lydick ( Walter) of Jackson , Suzanne Curran of Washington D. , Joseph Curran of Vicksburg and Mary Curran ( Michael) of El Cerrito, CA . James Raiford Potter, 84, passed away Sunday May 27, 2018 at The Martha Coker Green Homes in Yazoo City. He is survived by step children; Anne Ketchum of Oxford, Bill (Patty) Neal of Vicksburg, Becky (Bubber) Peterman, Debbie (Joe) Buckley, and Jim (Marilyn) Neal all of Yazoo City, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Also nieces, Ann Cox of Yazoo City; Mary Lee Baker of Grenada; Kay Mills (Darell) of Yazoo City, a nephew, Jim Anderson; ten great nieces and nephews and eleven great-great nieces and nephews.
