built in 1960 at Tornado Cars Ltd, based in Rickmansworth, Herts. The car has a ladder frame chassis, with a TR3 tuned engine and overdrive gearbox, rear axle comes from a Ford Mk11 Consul (1960).
A 5-speed manual Tremec TKO-600 transmission, with overdrive handles all of that torque and horsepower.
The chassis number is 104087, body number 737 2234, the original engine number was 97258 but the present engine number is 97064 which was on a car exported to Canada.
It has been modified for motor sport, I think whilst in Canada.
I drove it through my college years and raced it in autocross events until 1971 then sold it to support my racing career.
In 1987 I located the car which had been sitting out in the weather for 10 years and had mushrooms growing inside the cockpit.
Engine turned dash, walnut or mahogany steering wheel, full leather upholstery and quality carpets gives it the final touch.
